Exploring the Meaning of Life: What Makes It Worth Living

Life: an illusion

Every person holds a different meaning for the word "life". For some, it is the part of damnation. Such people believe that mankind is on Earth due to the sin of stealth we committed in the heavens high above a very long time ago. They say this life is the mere obligation for humans to realize their mistakes and purify themselves to be worthy enough to enter Eden again.

But then some people say life is a gift, bestowed by God, a chance to prove themselves. They strive their hardest to earn good deeds and make a better image in the afterlife. They believe in life after death, and they want to make it the best for their sake.

Few might say life is nothing but a probability and the result of cosmic eruptions. They are just fulfilling the time that the universe has offered to them. They try to find meanings inside the little moments of life, but for them, life holds no greater meaning, just a mere chance given to them by the universe.

l am a believer myself, but it makes the meaning of life if not any easier, but a lot more complicated. It feels like everything and nothing at once. If we call it a probability, how can it be so precise? If we call it a punishment, how can it bring happiness? If it is just an adventure, how can it shape the afterlife?

Is it an illusion? Maybe after death we will wake up and it all will be nothing. Maybe that's when actual life will start. Maybe it all will just be a dream of a dream. No one knows. Different religions and different schools of thought give different ideas about life and its meaning and purpose, but there is one thing for sure: Life exists and will keep on existing.

We are like some passengers on a train. We will get out of it when our time ends, someone else will take our place, but when we get off, we will have a new journey ahead of us, which no one is sure of in terms of meaning, but there must be something more to this life. All of this can't be for nothing. A greater meaning --- a greater purpose!
